Certificate in Molecular Pathology

Module 3

The ability of a pathologist to understand molecular diagnostic testing has become critical to the profession. Knowledge of methodology and understanding molecular alterations – inherited or not – is imperative for the current and future pathologist.
This program teaches molecular diagnostics in various components and formats and provides an unique opportunity to meet professionals, highly experienced in molecular diagnostics through lectures and laboratory courses. Since this course is focused on a limited number of participants, you will be guided and supported continuously and will be able to get interaction with teachers and the other participants.
This training is primarily intended for graduated pathologists that are regularly involved in clinical decision making where knowledge of molecular pathology is mandatory. This course is also complementary to the residents’ course in molecular pathology. Previous participation to the residents’ course is recommended.
The program is modular. One can select one or more half days. However, in order to obtain the Certificate in Molecular Pathology, one must attend at least 4 of the 6 half days of the program and follow a two day practical stage in a molecular lab of choice (time & location). The Certificate in Molecular Pathology will be reached after a final conversation with the course director.
