The Belgian Working Group for Thoracic Pathology was established in 2026.
It brings together pathologists with a special interest in lung, pleural, thymic and mediastinal pathology, with the shared aim of advancing the field of thoracic pathology in Belgium.
The objectives of the working group are to:
- Pool expertise across thoracic pathology
- Foster collaboration between pathologists with this shared subspecialty interest
- Promote high-quality and standardised diagnostics in line with international guidelines
- Support knowledge sharing and education
- Develop consensus statements on key topics in thoracic pathology
